Shining a light on our Spotlight Awards
The Spotlight Awards is our recognition programme designed to reward colleagues for delivering performance over and beyond their usual responsibilities.
Anyone in the UK can nominate a UK-based Mercer colleague or team for a Spotlight Award - it’s a great way to give your colleagues a boost and recognise their hard work. Winners are awarded e-vouchers where they can choose from a wide range of retailers such as John Lewis, Airbnb and ASOS.
Behind each nomination there’s a story about the fantastic effort a colleague or team has made to support colleagues or clients. In the video below Claire Bonds, Group Risk Consultant, talks about nominating Jo Kavanagh for a Shine Bright Award for her great work while Claire was on annual leave.
While Claire was away, Jo worked with key clients, including some of our most complex clients, such as a government body where strict processes had to be adhered to.
Jo also continued to work with our Marsh colleagues to ensure they were joined up on the completion of the April renewals, securing renewal confirmation and overseeing client questions and queries. When Claire returned from leave, she was able to hit the ground running and the clients received the great service deliverables they have come to expect from us. Great work Jo!

Our Mercer UK Spotlight Awards programme shines bright thanks to the hard work and dedication of our incredible Spotlight Admin team!
They are the unsung heroes behind every award, working hard on top of their busy day jobs to ensure our colleagues can easily nominate each other.
The team is made up of colleagues across the business that work very hard to review the awards that come in, help with queries and make sure colleagues can nominate easily and receive recognition for the hard work you do.

That's a lot to manage! But Stella Gore and Mina Chhaganlal agree that it's all worth it when they see the positive impact it has on our colleagues.
Stella said, “I love being part of something that rewards people and encompasses being a member of a community, team, and organisation that consistently recognises and values the efforts and contributions of its members.”
Mina said, “I originally volunteered because it was an interesting process and so different to my usual role. It’s amazing to see so many hardworking individuals being recognised for their contributions. Plus, working with the Spotlight team is a fantastic experience - we all support each other, and our voices are always heard.”
