New Mercer Marsh Benefits academy members bring their unique perspective
The third cohort of Sales & Consulting Academy members officially joined our business in April and have made a great impression.
Mercer Marsh Benefits (MMB) Academies are designed to support colleagues at the beginning of their careers to gain skills they need to succeed. This latest cohort of ten colleagues brings a diversity of talents and experiences to help shape the future of MMB.
Lizzie Turner, our MMB Academy Leader, is extremely excited to welcome the newest group of MMB Academy members. In addition, she is proud of the progress our previous cohorts have made, making a positive impact on the business since joining their new teams.
"The MMB Academies are a vital part of our growth plan, investing in our colleagues and nurturing talent," said Lizzie.
"It brings in smart and innovative minds to help diversify the way we think about benefits. We're looking forward to getting to know our new colleagues and supporting them through their learning, as well as helping them achieve their aspirations in our business. We are confident that this group will make a tangible impact on our business, and we can't wait to see what they will achieve.”

What attracted you to join our MMB Academy and how’s it been so far?
After completing my Biomedical Sciences degree at DeMontfort University in Leicester, I had no clue what to do, so I reached out to a former academy member, Ochuko Adeda, on LinkedIn who told me all about MMB and the varied roles within the business.
The prospect of having exposure to so many different business areas caught my attention as it would give me a chance to find out how I would like to get my career started. My role will involve completing a sales apprenticeship, taking my CII exams and also completing alignments across different teams within MMB. It's been a bit of a challenge, but I really enjoy everything I'm doing - so far so good!
Favourite thing about MMB?
The people at MMB are amazing. Everyone is so supportive and excited to have the Academy cohort around, which makes the transition to a new workplace a lot easier.
What do you like to do outside of work?
I love spending time hiking and mountain biking outside, sun or snow! I also regularly take part in powerlifting competitions and keep in touch with my university friends who share the same passion as I do.

Do you have any unusual talents or hobbies?
I can walk up the stairs on my hands and at one point I was able to ride a unicycle like a pro!
Where do you see yourself in ten years?
I'm still relatively new to MMB, but I've come to realise that the opportunities for growth and advancement within our organisation are endless, and often people end up in places they didn’t expect to be in!
I’d like to be somewhere I didn’t expect to be. I'm patiently waiting for ten years to come - I might be pleasantly surprised by the adventure I’ve taken and where I am in my career.
